I have a few days to make this decision. What do you all think about CMU's courseload/is it worth the extra 10,000 a year (I recieved a half scholarship from BU (Boston University)).

In this economy chose bu. 10,000 times 4 is 40,000 its worth it.

What major?
That’s all the difference in the world!

Physics or mathematics. I guess I’m also considering Grad School, but I really like the prestige of CMU.

I think CMU’s worth it, tbh. An extra 10k a year in loans is not bad at all, and the prestige is definitely a factor here. BU is a great school for math and physics, don’t get me wrong, but CMU is more well known and has a higher ranking; it also has the connections and employer relations that BU doesn’t have in that specific area.

Not to mention, if you plan to take any engineering or computer science courses… CMU’s definitely got the edge there.
