<p>Hey guys I am transfer student who has picked up my slack and was accepted to all the schools in the title for fall 2010. They all have different pros and cons based on location and what not but I'm mostly interested in which school would be the best for psychology. Any information regarding the psych programs or opinions on the schools are greatly appreciated! thanks!</p>
<p>I cant speak to any other schools program but Fordham is particularly strong in psychology. Check the website and the credentials of professors.</p>
<p>If you have Bing on that list I would probably take off Albany. I don’t think any of them are particularly strong or weak in Psychology except maybe American which is only known for Poly Sci.</p>

I just know one of my friends didn’t want to go to American because “they are really good for political science (her intended major but that’s not set in stone) but bad for everything else” (her words not mine).</p>
<p>American’s a great school, it just happens that most people go there for political stuff since it’s in DC.</p>

<p>I would just say because Washington DC is a great city to be in (love it). I don’t know anything about American’s psychology program so that may be something to do more research in but I’ve heard great things about the school.</p>
<p>If American does have a weakness in psychology or you feel is too heavily weighted in political science/government majors, then look at BU or Northeastern.</p>
<p>SUNY Binghamton and SUNY Albany, BU and NEU are large public schools. They may have an awesome psychology programs, I don’t know. But its a wholly different experience than a private college.</p>
<p>AU is a fine school, pretty campus, but its very preppy and very geared towards DC internships and its a Georgetown wannabe school. (I lived and worked in DC, I know.)</p>
<p>That leaves Fordham and Drexel. Drexel is in inner city Philadelphia. It may have a good program, I don’t know.</p>
<p>I do know Fordham’s psychology department is strong and has an excellent graduate program with it, both on the Rose Hill campus.</p>

<p>But does Fordham offer the BS/MS program for psychology?</p>
<p>I assume that you have done your own research on the Psych programs hence your application to these schools. </p>
<p>IMO, if you want a Jesuit education and can afford it, then pick Fordham. If you are IS and don’t mind being upstate NY, then consider Binghamton. Boston is a nice enough city though NEU has the coop and so that may add time to your undergrad experience. </p>
<p>Bottom line, don’t pick a school based on other people’s opinions of it. Your own is what counts.</p>

<p>You make the final decision, don’t let what I or other people say sway you in any decision if you don’t feel comfortable going that way.</p>

<p>American is over priced. College park is a much better school.</p>

<p>i would put bu and fordham as my tops and then bing then the rest. just my opinion. is money an issue or can you afford any of these? if you can, they pick based on where you’ll be happiest. congrats on all your acceptances</p>
