Bucknell fellow

Is anyone here currently a bucknell fellow that would like to elaborate on the experience

Yes. What would you like to know? I LOVE Bucknell! Everyone is super friendly and is very supportive. You'll always feel at home here and its just sooooo much fun. The workload can be stressful but it all depends on your major and you. If you have awesome time management you will be fine. The professors are amazing and accessible. Theres plenty of tutoring sessions so if you need help and don't want to ask your prof. (i don't know why you wouldn't) theres one for every subject every weekend. Just ask specific questions and I can answer.

Hello Tenis Swt
Thanks for being a Bucknell spokesperson

I was wondering what year you are in and what your major is? What schools did you consider and how did you decide on Bucknell ?
You certainly seem happy there and that is great to read!

Hey! I am a first year student...or soon to be sophomore at Bucknell. I am a double major in psychology and biology. Other schools I considered were: Brown, Tufts, Colgate, Drew, Stevens Tech, and Northeastern. Yes, I am very happy here. If you have any other questions please ask. I love talking about Bucknell and everyone else I know loves it there. Our last day was on Thursday and it was really sad leaving and having to pack up our room.

What is the best residence hall for first year students? Or if there is no best, what are the differences between freshman residences?

What is nice about Bucknell is that we don't have set "fresh" dorms. First year students can live in either Smith, Vedder, larison, Harris, McDonnell or Swartz. But in all of these residence dorms are sophomores/upperclassman. Depending on what you like there would be a difference in the nicest one. The housing office here chooses your room and roommate based off of your questionnaire so I would not worry about it too much. All the rooms are nice here. Larison isn't as nice as everyone else but the doubles there are really big. Swartz is another one people sometimes don't like but the people in there are usually really cool and everyone has a good time. Imagine a hall with skateboards and music all the time. It's a nice atmosphere. McDonnell is a lot quieter but its really new and has elevators. Smith is the res.college dorm so usually those are cool in that people all have similar interest. Harris is the CHOICE hall so it's substance free. But the rooms are nice and the hallways are wide. If you like the older feeling, Harris is awesome. Housing usually does a really good job and most people are happy with where they are and who they room with. It's also the experience that really matters. I would def. not think about where you'll be placed or be worried about it. It always works out in the end.
