I know they are both great schools but I want to major in Finance(or maybe double majoring with accounting) and was wondering whether Buffalo, Binghamton or Stony would hav a better Finance program or Business Program. Which is better in terms of program and overall standings? And which is easier to get accepted?

And I am planning to take my SATs in May 2012 and was wondering if I could still make it in time to apply for Fall 2012? Can I apply first before sending my SAT results? Very nervous about it @@

Are you saying that you want to start college next fall and haven’t applied or taken the SAT’s yet? Are you an incoming freshman? If so, I think you’ll be out of luck with those three schools as they typically have their freshman enrollments set by then.

I would say that Binghamton has the best program and is certainly the most selective.

For Business/Finance programs, Binghamton is very highly regarded. It will also be the most difficult to get an acceptance from in that program.

FYI- a friends son, with great GPA (IB program) and Good SAT"s (not stellar or so the Mom reports) was rejected from Binghamton’s Business program, but accepted at his first choice school: University of Michigan!! You never know!! I would expect that Bings business programs get many apps (many financial safties for top kids as well) and is not a “match” for all.

Good luck. Apply to all the schools you mention as you will need matches and safties as well.

Binghamtons reputation is going down the drain, dont go there. UB is going up in ranks every year. If you compare programs UB is doing better than Bing. I went to Bing and transfwered to UB, take my advise

The University at Buffalo School of Management is again ranked as one of the country’s best undergraduate business programs in the 2012 edition of “America’s Best Colleges” by U.S News and World Report.

The UB School of Management is tied for No. 81, higher than any other business school in the State University of New York system.

There’s only three business public schools accredited by the AACSB in both the business and accounting programs in New York. Baruch, UB, and UAlbany. There’s 6 total in NY, St John’s, Pace, and Hofstra being the other 3 schools having both programs accredited. I don’t know how much this matters, but I guess it’s good for something.

A bit off topic, UB is also the only SUNY school with a Law school. Although it’s no top 25 law school, I think it’s like in the 80s rank out of top 100 in the country. It’s law program is also accredited by the ABA. It has a dual JD/MBA program among other JD/MBA programs.

I do not go to this school BTW, but i’m hoping I can transfer in to it for it’s accounting program. I won’t transfer now though.
