Buick Achievers Scholarship 2014 *OFFICIAL THREAD*

Has anyone heard anything?
I just checked the Buick Twitter to find this today https://twitter.com/Buick/with_replies</a>
Someone had asked if the 2014 Winners were announced and Buick twitter said Yes, yet when you check the scholarship website its still showing 2013 winners?
I just sent a email to Buick Scholarship America about it and hopefully they will explain something.

Also this video from the UNCF:
<a href=“- YouTube”>- YouTube;

Does that mean that they have notified all Buick achievers already?

Their twitter just confirmed they have NOT been announced.

Seems like we should at least know the first five by now

Just a reminder that they did say the last week of April…

Just got the email that I was not selected as a recipient

Just got the email…provisional $25000 scholarship recipient :DD

i just got an email saying i was not a recipient on the scholarship ;(

Congrats!!!

My email said I am a provisional recipient of a 2014 Buick Achievers Scholarship of up to $25,000! Does that mean I got the $25000 a year for four years as long as the information matches or is there another step or qualifying round? Also does it say up to $25000 because it depends on a schools tuition or is the amount I will recieve not determined yet?

Not selected.

@Twis7ed & @justinnow123 - Congratulations! :slight_smile: Could you guys please post your stats on here?

And for those of you who weren’t selected, just keep trying. Trust me, your efforts will bear fruit.

@justinnow123 Congrats! And yes it basically means that as long as everything you said in your application matches with the transcript etc. you submit the money is yours :D. And I believe the up to $25000 means that it depends on how much unmet financial need you have to the school you are enrolling in (total cost - financial aid or any other merit money)

@elitepwnage Thanks! :slight_smile: And definitely, the results of a single scholarship don’t reflect anything about yourself or what you potential is, it’s just kinda whoever fits the scholarship’s vision or mission best. I posted my stats here a while ago: <a href=“Can more graduated seniors do "actual results" threads? - #1775 by Twis7ed - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>Can more graduated seniors do "actual results" threads? - #1775 by Twis7ed - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums;

@Twis7ed - Those are some awesome stats, and looking at your background, I’m sure you’ve worked extremely hard to get there. Well congratulations once again, and good luck in your future endeavors!

Hey everyone, I have a few questions. I was named a provisional recipient. Does that mean that if everything matches up, I get the $25k? Also, on my application I put down Mechanical Engineering, but I’ve decided to switch my major. Anyone know if this affects my chances? Plus, I put down a deposit for a state school since I got a decent scholarship there, but now, if I get this scholarship, my options have been widened by a large margin. Do you guys think that I would be able to back out of the deposit? Thanks so much!

@elitepwnage Thanks a lot :slight_smile: same to you!
@knit420 Yep that is what it means. As long as your new major is in the approved list it should be fine, I switched from Computer Science to Mathematics and it was perfectly fine. I’m not so sure about the deposit though since that depends on the school (and you’ll probably lose the deposit), be sure to contact whatever state school it is ASAP to have the best chance of things working out :). Congrats and best of luck!

Hi! I won the $25k scholarship too, and am starting a FB group for national recipients. If u’d like to join, message me. @Twis7ed and @justinnow123‌

Does anyone know when the checks will be sent out? I was told that there was a delay.
