Apparently lots of earthquakes in that area, and they are pretty close to some major fault lines. Has CMC retrofit its rather old and hastily-constructed dorms, as have most elementary, middle and high schools in California? (You may think this is a minor point, until you are standing there in the middle of the shaking.)

Don’t know the answer, but there hasn’t been an earthquake there in a long time. For the three and a half years my kid has been at CMC, I don’t remember any earthquakes.

It is true this has not been a “bad earthquake decade”, unlike the previous one. But the Easter 2010 quake was certainly memorable to me. I do hope that the buildings have been retrofit and strengthened since we now have a vested interest.

Yes, over the past ten years as all of the residence halls have gone through the rotation of summer renovations and upgrades they have also been retrofitted.
