I'm another Bulgarian girl heading for an all-women's college. I'll be quite close to you - at Smith, so I hope to see you around:)
By the way, there is a girl from my school who is also enrolled at MHC, so you'll probably see a lot of her as well.
And yea, all-women's college sounds a little scary, especially when you're leaving your boyfriend in Bulgaria...

frolik yes she has:) we "met" at one of the mhc admitted students chat events. we were even planning to fly together to the states, but we'll see. frolik how do you plan to travel? which companiy? to which airport?

most of the bulgarian girls have also booked with klm
i haven't booked anything yet
but my uncle live in nyc, so i might go and see him before i go to mhc:)

My college changed the date on which I can be picked up from the airport and now I have to get a new plane reservation.
DUH
i don't even know if there will be available tickets
:((

hey guys!
wassup? are you anxious about going to study abroad and leaving your family and friends here? my feelings are quite ambivalent. i am both very excited to go as it sounds as a challenge but i am also very upset that i will have to leave everything here...

p.s. there is a change in my plans... i am going to grinnell instead of mt holyoke. a couple of days ago i received an email from grinnell stating that they offer me more money. now their offer is much better than mt holyoke's plus it's co-ed college:P i am so happy

hi :)
congratulations e/b! u've done very well!
mirela, what are your EC's ? i'm from rousse 2 but i'm 11 grade in the european language school.

:))), I think I posted them earlier here on these forum, just check the whole thread.
I'm so glad that there is another person from Ruse applying to US colleges :)

I have a question. If i apply for Georgetown, do i have to have an interview? I thought it was impossible to have an interview in Bulgaria but it seems some bulgarians have had it.

If they WANT to interview you, they will find a way to do it, even if they don't have alums in Bulgaria. I had two interviews-one for Brown over the phone, and one for Harvard in Sofia.
A friend of mine was interviewed over the Internet, and another one flew to the states to be interviewed there. Of course they covered all his costs.
I know this will probably not calm you down, but the interview is another way to make you shine. If you are prepared and know your stuff, you will definitely rock. So don't worry.

lorddragon04, I myself was invited for an interview to the US by Wake Forest University. I stayed there for 5 days and they covered all my costs. That was awesome. But I've heard that many colleges do that. They're so rich that they can afford everything.

WOW! Of course they can afford it but it sounds scary. I still can't believe that there's a girl from my town accepted at Princeton and a boy going to Harvard and now... another shock! Interview in the US! Their admission process is so different from ours. You must be all very excited about going to your universities. Good luck!!! :)

Mirela, i have a few questions about u.s. colleges, so can i see you? I know you must be very busy now but the time u spare will be strongly appreciated. You can send me a personal message or contact me through ICQ.
