Bulldog Days 2006 Inquiry

I'm sure if you read my first post you can tell that I didn't go with my son to BDD - as others said, I wouldn't have seen him if I had. He has his own agenda. I left the decision of where he was going to go soley up to him. He knew what was right for him and I knew he'd make the right decision.

I flew with him to take him up to school - it was awesome. It also helped to have another body to be able to lug more of his junk to school (other stuff went via Greyhound). His 18th birthday was move-in day and he had a big party outside his dorm with over 100 of his new friends. I enjoyed meeting his roomies - I have to say those in the office do an awesome job of putting the right kids together, at least they did on my sons part.

While we/he got settled in I went an toured NH and loved it - esp. when I found the nearest Trader Joes (we don't have them where I live) and a stop at Ikea made the trip even sweeter (or fattening, take your pick) We flew up on Thursday night and I left Sunday afternoon. This was a great time to go and see Yale and NH! I now know why my son fell in love with Yale, I did too.

His Dad went up for Parents Weekend.

Whatever works best for you and the student. For me, not only was the decision to send him alone on BDD a personal decision, but financial as well. I couldn't have gone both times anyhow, even if I had wanted to and being there on move-in day was far more important.

Wishing you all the best guys! As I understand, this Thursday is the day!!!! I hope all of those who will be going to Yale find it as awesome as my son has!
