Do many Trustee finalists get bumped down?

Think positive. I’m sure you did fine?

Did you get it in the mail?

Or did your stauts change online saying it has been mailed to you? I am DYING to know

No, just worried, but I did get the status change and an email inviting me to GLP (Marshall), to which all Trustee/Presidential should already be automatically invited to.

Does anyone know when we are supposed to get final notification?

I don’t know when they are mailed but I do know that if you don’t get it in the mail by march 29 the portal is updated then

It looks like admission decisions and scholarship notifications are being mixed up a bit on this thread. ADMISSION decisions are scheduled to be mailed on the 26th of March and available online on the 29th.

Scholarship notifications for those who interviewed are scheduled for “late March” with no specific date mentioned. In the past, mailings were typically around the 20th, so my guess is that we will see postings by next Friday or Saturday.

Important notes:

-Once again, NMS should not fret! Your notification (IF you are accepted, have been named NMS and have named USC as your first-choice) will arrive! Do not expect it with the notifications for the scholarships that required interviews. If you receive your USC acceptance and have your NMS letter, name USC as your first choice and FAX your NMS letter in if you want to speed the process.

-Please do not get too excited about the status change to “The committee has acted…” at this point! In January ONLY acceptances were mailed, so that status was uniformly good news. NOW however, both acceptances AND rejections will be sent. BOTH will receive a status change to “acted on…”

-Once again I will mention that technically, there is no “bumping” up OR down as no scholarships have yet been awarded. An invitation to interview is not a guarantee or award of a particular scholarship, it simply states that you are being considered. We have observed that hose who interview may be awarded anything from a Director’s $4,000/year to the full-tuition scholarships. Whatever award you receive will, technically, be a " bump UP" from ZERO.

-Those who did not interview and are accepted in the next couple of weeks: There are still MANY smaller scholarships to be awarded. We see those added throughout April, even in to late April. Those who DID interview, some of those smaller scholarships may be awarded to you, too. Wait for late April to be sure. For everyone who feels they may be eligible for need-based aid, get your materials in - many who thought they could not afford USC without a large merit scholarship find that need-based aid does make it possible. Others find the cost is just too much. WAIT until all the info is received - need-based aid typically is on your award page by April 10th and sometimes is added bit-by-bit. Don’t assume your package is complete until you receive an email saying it is.

-Those who interviewed for scholarships and feel there is a possibility they will choose to attend USC should be filling out their housing applications (the $45 deposit is WORTH it to get in line early) and applying for Thematic Option or FSH if they feel they are up to the challenge. There are limited slots in those programs and all admits will be eligible to apply as soon as their acceptance is received.

GOOD LUCK to all!!!

I am pretty sure we were told at Explore the info about mailing scholly decision notices around 3/26 and portal posting on 3/29.

Yea i hope they come earlier but I think bonard48 is correct

the only bit of optimism is that people who didn’t get an interview haven’t gotten the status change yet so does that mean anything?

Way back in 2008, I think my S1 got his letter with the scholarship decision on March 22, which was a Saturday. I’m guessing it was mailed March 21–Friday, although they had announced they’d arrive by early April. Listen the wise words of alamemom. Things can always change, but in the past, USC has sent out scholarship decisions about a week before the general admissions decisions.

haha thanks alamemom great advice
