I'll be looking to transfer from community college in a couple of years. I'd really like to go to a super-brainy/artso-weirdo kind of school where I know I'll find "my people" but I'm worried that with my terrible record I'll just have to go wherever they take me.

The Bad: From about 6th grade to my second year of community college I got terrible grades. I dropped out of high school twice, and the second time was for rehab. I was also suspended once, for a few days, for arguing with someone (detail: she hit me but I didn't do anything back). I have ADHD and Bipolar (but I don't know to what extent I plan to talk about that when I'm applying), and getting those treated has helped tremendously.

The Good: For all my time in school I have test scores hanging around in the 95th-97th percentile. I'm not the most brilliant but I'm smart enough to keep up and then some, and I'm slightly less gifted (but still talented) at art. Recently (with the ADHD / BP treatment) my grades have shot way, way up.

The Other: I don't really have anything to show for clubs or volunteering or even work experience or anything like that. However, by the time I am transferring to a 4-year, I will probably have an AA, and possibly also an AS in ASL interpretation. I plan to take advantage of the TEACH grant, which means I will teach k-12 for at least four years.

What are my chances at schools like (in no particular order):

Evergreen
Bennington
Bard
Barnard
Reed
Hampshire
and many others I'm forgetting/you're remembering (suggestions welcome!)

I'd love any feedback on any part of this! Thanks!
