Bunch of different schools - will chance back!!!

Ok. I'm a junior now, with a 3.77 weighted GPA

Freshmen year I had a 3.6 weighted

Soph I had a 3.6 weighted

Now I have a 4.1 weighted, when I get physics to an A i'll have a 4.25

I really screwed up my first 2 years, and I know alot of people say that but I guess i'm just another one of those people haha

unweighted gpa

Freshmen year - 3.1

Soph - 3.3

Junior (now) 3.5

SAT scores

(remember I was a freshmen when I did this, i've improved alot now)

CR - 540
W - 520
M - 500

AP classes - Currently in AP bio & AP us history

Class rank - 10-15%

EC's

National Honor Society
100+ volunteer hours working with a non-profit organization that gives food to financially troubled seniors
Cotillion Club

If you can chance me for the following schools:

In order of importance -

Penn State
UGA
FSU
USF
University of Alabama

I'll chance back =]

oh and i’ll add that I live in Florida, but my top choice is penn state… not sure how that will hurt me

OOH and another thing, on SAT practice tests I consistently score between 1800-1900, the 1560 I posted is my freshmen year with no preparation

Penn State University park has gotten very hot- kind of reachy for you with current scores. See how you do this time around.

GPA wise would I be fine? I am 100% confident I will score 1800+ the next time I take the SAT’s, that’s why I’m worried about my GPA compared to my SAT’s

Truthfully, borderline. I think you’d get in to one of the other Penn State campuses, but UP- tough one.

Ahh

I thought since I have above average GPA that me being out of state wouldn’t hurt me so much :

Actually, it’s the current SAT score that I think holds you back. The big state schools are very numbers oriented. But I’m sure you’ll bring it up, and then you’ll be fine.

Thanks for the help ^_^

I think you should be shoe-in at alabama the other ones are iffy.

Do you mean iffy with my current SAT’s?

(Remember… I was straight outta middle school just taking it for fun… not sure why I even posted it here lol)

Or with my GPA ?

with you current SATs and grades your good for alabama and the others are low reaches and penn state is a reach but if your SATs have improved they are all matches

Alright cool.

I’m taking 2 more SAT’s this year, and i’ve definitely learned ALOT since middle school, so an 1800+ will be no problem whatsoever

oops double post

bump 10chars

bump 10chars

I’d say penn state is your only reach. eveything else should be matches or low reaches

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1022392-chance-me-stanford-ea-one-last-time.html

Thanks deb83r,

Are you saying it is a reach with my current SAT’s or with my predicted SAT’s (1800-1900)?

bump 10char

Penn State - reach

All the rest of them should be fine.
It’d be hard to get tuition though.

good luck!

^ I agree with what everyone else has stated. Keep working on the GPA and get a good test score bump and you should be good.
