Has this happened to anyone ?

So I was paying my tuition balance via netpay and i guess somehow it registered twice. I had originally intended to pay the entire balance but double that amount was credited and now i have a significant credit balance. We can't afford to have that balance out of the checking account to which it was deducted from right now and I need whatever I overpaid to be reimbursed.

I'm sure that they have a reimbursement situation for mistakes like this, but my question is: is there any type of penalty or fee for this? They haven't been answering since thursday, and are obviously closed on the weekend. I will hopefully get in touch with them tomorrow, but just wondering if this has happened to anyone before.

THanks

I can't imagine there is any sort of penalty for a mistake like this...especially since you did pay the full balance.

I think that you should ask for a refund check (or sign up for direct deposit), and you should be fine.

Why don't you contact your bank to see if they could reverse it first. I have tried that once, instead of paying $75 on an utility bill, I paid $7500. The only thing is it has been a few days. They would be more likely to do it if it happened on the same day.

Cornell shouldn't charge you for it because they don't charge you extra when you pay out of your bank acct (they charge a fee for credit card payment). The only bad news is Cornell may be bureaucratic and take a while to re-issue the refund.

If you have a credit on your bursar account, they will issue you a refund check for the amount with no penalty. You can stop by Day Hall to pick up a check but sometimes it takes a little while for them to issue the check.
