Bus Schedule?

I found the bus schedule, but I am kind of confused. It says that it starts at 7:30, but the first listing is what looks like 7:07. Can someone please explain the bus schedule to me? I am thinking of living in Hereford, so I need to know it. Does anyone know where a map is of the stops? I don't quite know what all the abbreviations are or where they are. Also, does anyone know anything about any other busing service that goes to some kind of grocery store or walmart? Thanks.

Why on earth would you want to live in Hereford?

Looks quiet, and it's closer than Copeley or Faulkner.

Oh, I see. Well, umm, the bus system seems to work out for a lot of people, and you could always get a bike. FWIW, I prefer walking to riding the bus.

IMO, Copeley or Faulkner are much better places to live than Hereford. Don't worry about the bus schedule, they're always early/late. It runs about every 15 minutes so you just sit at the stop. And you can get a printed copy of the bus routes/map on any bus.

The #5 and #7 CTS buses goes up Route 29 and stops at most of the major shopping centers. The regular UVA bus (blue) will take you to Barracks Road, where many students do their grocery shopping. Students in certain halls can walk to Barracks.

Thanks everyone!

I'm sure you HAVE to ride the buses because you're a freshman-- but beware. I know some of the students who drive the buses and they aren't exactly what you might consider to be responsible drivers. I am terrified to ride the bus after taking a class with some of them...

Just remember that if the bus starts to swerve and you notice the driver has passed out, HOLD ON AND MAKE PEACE WITH GOD.

Hey pizzelle, thanks for the advice, but I'm not a freshman. I'm a second-year transfer.

Then you don't have to take the buses...unless you have no car.

HAHA, I couldn't stop laughing at this post, haaha

Yeah I am not going to have a car with me for at least the fall.

I'll give you a ride dude, no problem. I'll even charge you 1/2 the UVA bus fare.

Get a bike, seriously. That will save you from almost every trip you need to make.

My only problem with bikes is the people who ride them. They're so damn reckless...one of these days someone will get seriously injured by a bike rider.

I think your problem lies with generalizing all bike riders. There are bike lanes around the campus so it's not like they're going crash into you. I for one am not reckless biker.

I guess with an issue of public safety like this, generalizations can become the rule. Alcohol purchase, possession and consumption are limited to those over the age of 21 primarily because of the irresponsible behavior of a few. I guess I'm just reacting like this because I've had some very close calls and I've seen some other near accidents.

I don't know about you guys but the worst bicyclists have to be engineers. They just weave around people walking through Engineer's Way all the time. One guy ran into a friend of mine going to calculus one morning after breakfast.

Can someone post the link for

1) The bus route map+schedule which goes around campus AND
2) THe bus route+schedule which goes off grounds to the grocery store and barracks mall

I can't find them anywhere and I am afraid I'll be very confused for finding adequate transportation.

Here you go.
