I have been accepted into the Engineering program at Purdue and was wondering about the possibility of taking business classes or minoring in something like economics while working on an engineering major. Is this possible/common? I know that some schools like Northwestern offer special programs for engineering students interested in business. Is there anything like this at Purdue? Thanks!

Yes, it is possible and decently common. There’s no special program. You just take the classes required for the minor.

My son is an Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering major with a Business Management minor and will be able to graduate in four years…so it is possible.

There is an Industrial Management degree which combines the two majors, but I believe the actual degree is from Krannert School of Management instead of Engineering.
