I realize this is a stupid question, but is a strong knowledge of calculus required for the upper level Business Economics courses?

I'm currently taking calculus in lower division, and I'm wondering if this math is going to be necessary for grasping the upper division coursework.

Thank you for honest answers regarding this. I realize the morally correct answer is that I should master all my coursework, but math is my sole academic weakness, and if calculus really is that fundamental to bizecon, I may just have to change my major. >_<

not really, you just need a very basic grasp of differentiation. veryyyy basic. if you don't like math, avoid the upper div classes with a mathematical orientation (140 series).

yep, basically you are just required to find the marginal cost function from the production function...(aka find the derivative of the prod. function). thats bout as hard as it gets.

for example:

production function-12x^2+4x=100
find the marginal cost function.
