I am thinking about attending UC Santa Barbara under a business economics major only because they do not have regular business. I know people have asked what the difference is between an econ major and business major but I just want to know if there is a big difference in the jobs. Is one major more likely to bring in a greater income than the other? Those are two different questions. Thanks!

my same question exactly! any help?

To further that question, how do job opportunities and salaries and job availability differ between the two?
I am considering UCLA and USC for business, but UCLA would only have a business-economics major for undergraduate education while USC has the Marshall Business school.

many good questions in this thread, care for a reply :D

I would say it just depends on what you are looking at doing for a career.

What do you like?

I think Finance and Accounting are the two degrees that offer the most money/ best opportunities. But Econ, Finance and Accounting all teach a different set of skills so what is most important is what your future boss/ employer value.

I have been told that Econ is really only a good subject if that person is planning to get an advanced degree. That is just what I have heard.
