Business economics vs psychology

I am a freshman undergrad recently admitted to UCLA.
I applied for the business econ major, but plan to change to psychology major when school starts.
I’m afraid to make choices i will regret.
Any advice on which major is better? Any pros and cons will be awesome.
Thanks!

Neither is better or worse than the other; it all depends on your preferences and what you would like to do. A lot of people will say that you can only get a job with a graduate degree if you major in psychology, but that’s not true - you just have to do internships and gain skills in college, which you would have to do in any major.

General note: you can’t live in fear of doing things that you regret. We all have to make choices that seem like the best option at the time, because unfortunately we can’t see the future. We don’t know what’s going to be booming 5-10 years from now, when you’re starting your career and transitioning into mid-career. You can only follow the things that you’re interested in, and plan for the best, and hope it works out.

There is no reason to make a change now, as you are only admitted as a pre-major in business econ. You aren’t admitted to the major until you complete all the prerequisites with a satisfactory GPA and apply for the major.

You can take classes that satisfy the prerequisites for both majors over the next semester before making a decision. You should discuss this with your advisor at orientation.
