business entertainment

For a person interested on working on the enterteniment industry what should be his/her major?business?"communication(radio tv film)?other then schools like UCLA , USC, NYU , northwestern which school would be good?

i too am interested in this. i want to become a movie agent, and would like to know the same answer to this question

My advice is either 1) go to the obvious (NYU, UCLA, USC) 2) go Ivy 3) go to a tight-knit LAC with film (Wesleyan, Vassar). If you are looking for a less selective school, go somewhere in LA (pepperdine, etc).

slipper1234 ..always sharp..nice hearing from you.well i can't affor USC..i hate NYU..ucla hyper reach...pepperdine might...what about UT austin ..they have a very good business and communication(radio tv film) department...

so does syracuse

Most people who get into the entertainment industry don't have a certain major as much as a devotion to creating their own entrepreneurial entertainment/business opportunities IN COLLEGE. I think Business would be most useful, but there is no school, especially in the Ent. industry, that feeds in.

Dan Rather went to SFA, Nancy Grace went to--as I recall--a mediocre BA program, as did many other people in the ent. industry. Go where you will get the best "all around" education.
