business, entrepreneurship for rising HS sophomore

My 9th grade son loves business and is looking for a summer program. He is not old enough for the Wharton or Endevvr programs.

Learn customer service with some sort of front desk/waiter job (or internship).
Do community service.
Organize his friends to do a fundraiser throughout the summer, via some sort of mini-business.

The summer after 9th grade is the hardest to fill up, in terms of college apps. Most worthwhile and inexpensive summer programs don’t allow rising sophomores. I was an intern during that summer because it was the only fun/worthwhile thing I could do.
