Business internships w/o business classes

When applying for business internships (not talking about the hardcore wall street ones just more regular ones), the description often says something like "students pursuing degrees in finance, accounting...etc" preferred. So do you think that means they wouldn't really consider people who've just taken intro econ classes? Thats my situation...I'm a frehsman...I don't know much about finance/accounting and I doubt you'd actually use intro econ stuff in these types of internships, but should I apply anyway? Obviously it doesn't hurt to apply, I just don't want to waste my time.

If you plan on pursuing the degree they are looking for then it's a plus. You can still apply if you have a strong interest.

A lot of sophomores get internship before they start taking their major work so it should not be a problem.
