Hey guys! I'm interested in studying business and/or general liberal arts-y things in college, but I'm not sure if Dartmouth is considered "strong" in those areas, therefore I don't know if the school is a good match for me. Can anyone help me out with researching the strengths/weaknesses for Dartmouth?

Dartmouth does not have undergrad business. Business is at Tuck (the grad school). However, this does not mean that Dartmouth does not do a great job of placing students in IB/Consulting/grad school after graduation. Since only you know exactly what you are looking for in a school, why don’t you what it is about Dartmouth appeals to you.

As Sybbie says, D–like most elite schools–does not have undergraduate “business.” It’s common for people who go to elite schools who are interested in finance or some other “business” career to major in Economics. There are tons of students at D who are aiming at that kind of career: it’s almost a cliche at this point.

D is very strong in the liberal arts. Personally, I tend to think of D as being more the very best and largest LAC in the country with some good professional schools than as a true “research university.”

Dartmouth is one of the best business feeders among any school. A major in business is not a requirement for business recruiting, in most cases in fact its the opposite.
