Business major for UCSC or CSU's

How is the Business program for UCSC compared to CSU’s like SJSU or CSUEB? I got into UCSC, originally applied for EE major as a transfer, but was rejected to the program. However, I was still qualify admission as an undeclared major. I am planning to major in Business major, specifically accounting, but I don’t know too much about the Business program here at UCSC.

Also I am ill prepared for the business major, just completed Econ 1 and 2 during this summer, with 4.0 where UCSC requires 2.8 combined for Econ 1 and 2. However, I have not completed other lower core classes like Business accounting or Business managerial yet. Neither have I completed Statistic or 1 computer literacy class. However, as a EE transfer, I have completed all of my calculus sequences with an total of 3.0 average for Cal 1/2/3.

The only thing I am concerned is whether UCSC is a good business school or not compared to other CSU business school. I know SJSU and CSUEB have good business programs, but I know little about the business program here at UCSC.

UCSC has a Business Management Economics major, but that is not a true business program (business administration).

If that’s the case, should I go towards CSU like SJSU or CSUEB for their business programs? Also, In the long run, an degree from UCSC, would it help me find a job since it’s not a true business program?

For accounting, I would choose SJSU. There is an old thread about UCSC vs SJSU for accounting.

Hi everyone, I want to major in Business Management. Is SJSU better than UCSC for that type of degree?
