business major = weak and stupid?

Accounting is certainly not an easy major, but I believe most would agree that math is among the most difficult majors, while Accounting isn't.

Disagree with the previous poster, but that's fine.

I believe accounting is tedious and exhausting, rather than just plain difficult. But in it being tedious is what makes it so hard, not everyone has the capacity to do such work

Ummm. You think that Accounting would be considered to be one of the most difficult majors? You make me laugh.

accounting is the hardest subject in business, but business is the easiest outta everything out there.

So if you think accounting is hard, you really deserve to be a biz student.

No, I don't think it's the most difficult; I just don't think it's easy, and since it's a subclass of business in some colleges, the title of this thread did not make sense to me.
I never said I think it's the most difficult, or one of the most difficult; I do, however, feel it's a difficult major which some people would not succeed in.

I understanding engineering, molecular biology, and things deemed harder majors, but accounting is still a difficult major, and not a fluff major like this thread suggests all business majors are.

And Business is not the easiest out of anything out there. Women's studies, Communication Studies, and things of that sort are the easiest majors out there, as well as the "education majors". Communication studies is probably the easiest major there is; I took 15 credits in Communication studies, and it was probably the easiest time I've ever had in college; accounting, however, always takes a lot of time out of class.

Well, it is quite natural to find something hard even if it's easy, when you're not very intellgent to begin with.

Business was created for those who cant graduate from college in science majors. My View.

Now it depends on what you mean by easy, if you are comparing your workload(Business) to let say an engineering student then Business is a walk in the park. In this case Business is easy but not that easy, which is the reason Business is the chosen major for engineering drop outs.

If you are comparing Business to lets say a Art student then Business is more quantitative, which makes it much much harder than the arts. but stil much much simpler than the sciences.

This is the business forum so Most of the people here are business students and well they will think highly of themselves. which is respectable.

Who cant graduate from a science major? That is 100% BS. I can perfectly well graduate with a science degree, with the exception probably being physics. I have been involved with college level biology classes since middle school, and since have studied further with subjects including neurology, biochem, etc.

"So if you think accounting is hard, you really deserve to be a biz student."

"Well, it is quite natural to find something hard even if it's easy, when you're not very intellgent to begin wilth."

Lol, both classic lines.

This is a dumbass debate, none of those who think accounting is easy and low workload have taken Intermediate I and II which are the most difficult courses in the major. Accounting is a difficult major, it is definetly harder than most majors out there. Getting a 3.7+ in upper level accounting courses would definetly not make you stupid.

I doubt most physical science, math or engineering majors would have sympathy. Major choice does not make one stupid or smart. However, I would think that accounting is simply not that close in difficulty to those previously mentioned majors.

No one can speak for majors they have not taken; why is the CPA pass rate so low?
Those that are speaking of accounting like they know what they're talking about have not a clue. You're not majoring in it, so you can not speak of its difficulty.

Yes or no, do you think Accounting is in a similar league with Engineering, Math or Physical Sciences?

Read the previous page. You'll get my answer to that question. All I've said is that accounting is more difficult than most people think (never said it was the MOST difficult major); those that are talking about how accounting is not hard have not taken upper-level accounting classes, and probably haven't even taken the intro classes (even if you have taken intro it doesn't compare to upper). I can't tell you how hard upper-level math is because I didn't go beyond calculus. Same goes for the people on the "business forum" that aren't business majors and have not taken upper-level accounting classes.

You're completely contradicting yourself. If you don't think you can judge other majors how do you know accounting is difficult?

Because I am an accounting major?
I got my A.S. in Bus. Administration, and was planning to do a BSBA but changed to Accounting awhile ago- so, there's no contradiction? Been taking the acct. classes, still will take accounting classes, and will get a BS in Accounting, so...I'm not making any contradiction?

Mr Smartman, there's more majors than sciences, math, and engineering. Stop pretending you are superior to everyone in intelligence based on your MAJOR. Accounting is definetly one of the harder majors relative to ALL the other majors.

Im an engineering major and have take acounting 1 & 2 for fun, belive me guys its probrolly one of the easiest classes ive taken. If you think business is hard you are in denial.

You haven't taken intermediate 1 & 2, delete your post NOW!
