I’m currently a computer science major but the school I go to doesn’t really have a great engineering school, I mean it’s ok but it’s nothing special, however the business school is very nice and very good. I’m currently attempting to switch my major to either International Business or Management Science. What I’m wondering is if a minor in Computer Science or like Mechanical Engineering would be useful? I enjoy engineering and stuff but the Business school is just better, and also everyone in engineering seems kind of antisocial and weird lowkey.
I think it’d be cool to get like a management position at like Boeing, or BMW or Tesla
Visit your campus placement center and do some research. You find that the comp sci majors get better jobs than grads from the “very good” business school.
So, another question is even if my college doesnt have a great (rankings wise) Comp Sci program should I still be able to find a job in Comp Sci? Like a decent one?
Yes, you shouldn’t have a issue getting recruited with an CS degree. How would you define decent? It’s likely to be a well paid CS job, but it would be difficult getting a job at very competitive companies like Google, right out of college.
Major in IT. You get the benefits of a technical degree and a strong business background. Most CS graduates end up getting jobs in IT and spend their entire careers never working a math problem.
