Hi, I am senior applying to UCLA.

I want to major in overall operation, management, marketing, entrepreneurship, etc.. and work at consulting companies like Deloitte, Mckinsey, Accenture, etc..
My final goal is to establish my own business/enterprise after some experience.
I am not really considering majoring in analytic fields or finance, or working at investment bankings after graduation. Neither do I have interest in mathematical things nor am I good at those.
(Though I am well aware of the current trend and popularity of majoring in Finance..)

But the thing is that UCLA does not have Busines school.

For student like me, is UCLA proper?
What majors do students like me, who want to major in Business, mostly take?
Which career path do graduates of UCLA who want to major in Business mostly take?

How much is the ratio of them going to great MBA schools?

You should just search it up, but from what I’ve read… The Business Economics major in UCLA is mostly about accounting. It’s pretty competitive, since the chance of getting into the major depends mostly on two classes: Econ 11 and Econ 101.

I heard the Big 6 recruit here. Most people go into accounting?

UCLA doesn’t have a formal biz school, but we have a Business Economics major, which is basically the “business” degree offered here. However, it’s competitive as hell to get into the major. It’s mainly just economics classes combined with accounting classes.

UCLA doesn’t offer a major in “general bizness just so you can start your own bizness.” You can major in Economics or Business Economics and do what 90% of people here do and go into accounting. If you’re smart, you’ll get hired by a big firm like KPMG or PwC.

If you’re truly exceptional and have amazing grades (think 3.8-3.9) and have a great charismatic personality with some experience, you can probably get hired as a financial analyst by Citi or JPMorgan Chase and relocate to New York. Mind you…I know only 2 people out of the dozens of Econ/Business Econ majors I know to have ever been able to do this. Again, most end up working in accounting firms. If they didn’t get an internship or full time offer by the time they graduated, they were EFFED and probably ended up working in Bank of America as a Bank Teller or something.
