Hello,
I will be a senior in high school next year and was wondering which classes I should take to prepare for a business major. So far in my schedule I have AP Calculus (AB), AP Government, AP Economics, AP Psychology, and Regular English. However, I would like to know which would be more useful; the Psychology course I originally signed up for, or AP Statistics. It seems like stats would make more sense, but psychology could always be useful.
Thanks for any help!

Statistics is useful in general, but many colleges’ business, economics, or other social studies majors require a more in-depth statistics or major-specific quantitative methods course anyway.

Both AP psychology and statistics typically count for only a semester of introductory college course in the subject, if they are accepted at all.

^Agreed. In my experience of looking at colleges. Many do not accept AP Statistics or AP Psychology for credit or even placement. Many DO accept AP Econ. That sort of gives you a clue to how the respective departments at these universities view the material taught in AP Psych/Stat.

Look at the policies of colleges you are thinking about applying to. I don’t think it would be worth taking AP Stat if the college is going to make you retake the intro level Stat anyway.
