Business or Economics Major

Hi there, I've been accepted to UAlbany as a transfer student to attend later this fall. Im really undecided what major to choose though. I got accepted as an economics major...but I've been thinking about switching to a business major, whether its accounting or ITM. One day i would like to have an MBA, and thats why i originally chose economics b/c i always hear its a good major for getting an MBA later on and i find it more interesting. However, being in the business school provides more connection with businesses and more oportunities to do internships. Im afraid that economics is too broad and wont get a good job after college. Any response would greatly be apprecitated, thank you!

what is your GPA and what school?

I teach at UAlbany public admin, but know the reputation of both departments–Most sensible thing, if you’re planning on the MBA, is to major in econ and load up on as much stats/math as you can-- UAlbany’s B-School is better at IT than at finance, which is pretty serious mathematically at most places
