How hard/competitive is it to get into the business program in your 3rd year?
I really want to go to an undergraduate business program, and UMich's is one of the best. Is it worth the risk though? Because if i end up not getting in.. I would've wasted 2 years there...

Admission to the B school is very tough and very competitive. I believe your year would be the first year that the B school would be admitting freshman under their new policy (Granted they will only take 70 now, and 270ish or so from your class in 2 years). So this is an option that is open to you to explore also.

That correct. 2005 applicants can apply directly to the Business school.

what?? how can i apply to the business school for freshman app? i went to the site and it still says that i can only apply junior/senior year.. it doesn't say anything about accepting 1st year students. wow.. this totally changes my perspective on this whole college thinq... does anyone know how i can apply tho? my application right now is to the college of literature, arts, & the sciences

I think he means students who send their applications in fall 2005 (Next year's applicants). I did hear that kids who begin school in the fall next year can enter as sophmores into the B school though.

WHAT? I thought all applicants should apply to other college for freshman year and then apply to B school in their soph or jr year. WHAT'S HAPPENING!

What's happening is that Michigan is now changing its Business school admissions policy...at least, they are investigating the possibility. This is merely a pilot.
