I really want to work in the business eerr field. I cannot seem to find any ECs that are related to "business". However, I did apply for the Academy of Finance at my high school, but I think the academy is going to close next year (The year I'm supposed to be in it) due to a lot of reasons, it's a long story but everyone that is in it now also think it's going to be the last year.

And that sucks because that is the only business related EC I would have had. Can anyone else suggest more ECs that are business related? I tried googling and didn't find anything. Maybe if someone suggests something specific I can find a good one.

Thanks in advance.

DECA? Do a quick search there was this same exact topic not to long ago on here and (s)he got some really good ones.

For business EC's do stock club, etc. If there isn't anything, then create your own club.

Try to get a job at the type of business you are interested in, most businesses will be happy to get an office boy (especially cause they don't have to pay benefits)

Your Academy of Finance is closing? That sucks. I joined my school's and was able to get a great business internship during the summer. And I got a sizable scholarship from it as well...

See if your school has an investment club or something. If not, make your own.

A stock club or investment club? Just wondering, what would you do in those types of clubs? Like stock games and stuff? My school has few clubs can they can only be about 20 minutes a day during DEAR (Drop everything and read), which is in the middle of the school day.

I was actually thinking about starting a club, but I have no idea how to do it and I don't have a lot of info about the stock market/investments.

Well, part of the process is learning. If you and a bunch of other ambitious business oriented students get together, you could have club where you could explore stocks and stuff. Best thing would be to get a teacher who is educated or at least semi-informed in business as your club adviser. You could participate in a stock game or just contact local organizations. Oh, and how could any of us forget to mention Junior Achievement? See if there's a local branch that could help you out.

Thanks so much, you've given me lots of ideas for a club! :) I think the only hard part will be getting a teacher to do it. My business teacher is getting fired, due to the lack of people joining business ed classes and the other business teacher already has a club, but I'll definately still try to do it. And thanks, I'm going to check out the Junior Achievement website now.
