It's interesting that assuming they are only expecting 70-80 kids that I know over 15 of them....=)

And yes, you definetly need some hooks to get into PA because Ross is looking for the qualitative match w/ academic capaibility. Anyways, GJ to all those who got in, GL to those who are still waiting, sorry to those who didn't get in. I'll be happy to answer the "what were my hooks" question via PM.

33 ACT / 1420 SAT
4.0 Michigan GPA (6/673)
App date: 10/23
Accepted to LSA: 1/5

I think I was hurt as an in-state applicant. OOS kids who applied a few weeks after me were accepted to LSA a few weeks before me. Really sucks, because Ross is my top choice (even over Wharton)

Hey you could apply to the Ross Business school as an undergraduate? Or are you guys just talking about the Pre-Business Major with a guaranteed admit to the business school?

Anyhydrosis - I only sent in the required additional "Why should you be PA to Ross" essay/letter that you attach to your U-Mich application. Don't worry that you havent heard back, I actually called up the day before I got in (two days ago) and they said they had an unexpectedly high amount of applications and they are just processing all of them slower than expected.

Soma - there is a preferred admissions program to for high school seniors who are guaranteed admissions to the business school for their sophmore-senior years (freshman year is in LS&A). if you dont apply to that program or you don't get in, you can still apply at the end of your freshman year. The only difference is that those automatic admits just have to meet the academic requirements and don't have to fill out any other forms and such. Plus, apparently, getting into Ross once your at Mich is pretty difficult if you dont have top grades and/or some EC's.

I have re-checked my Michigan on-line application printout and find no requirement for a "Why should you be a Ross PA letter"? Qestion 36 asks you to list "which program" for Preferred Admission applicants. Question 35 asks for an "Academic area of interest" and I did mention the Ross preferred admit program, but never sent in a separate letter.

GPA: 3.8485 UW
SAT: 2210, but the one they saw was 2140
Location: NJ
apps completed late late Oct
LSA decisions around mid Dec
PA decisions: Feb 11

I did attach an extra letter to my apps online, and the Ross decision came through the mail. Though my letter did not include info about a 5000 dollars scholarship.

I know I'm obsessing here, but how did you know to attach the separate letter. Did you look at the PDF instruction for the hard copy? I couldn't find instructions anywhere for the on-line application. I'm just trying to figure out how dense I am. ;)
