Has anyone done this as a freshman - what did you think?
Quad 2 - any advise on what to bring/not bring for storage or comfort?

i knew a person who lived in quads, a fan is a must. Also, a bed foam/mattress is a good thing especially since some beds on campus suck

is a window fan the way to go, or is there room for a stand up room fan?

There is plenty of room for a stand up fan. However, certain dorms on Livingston have huge ceiling fans. For some reason I thought it was the quads but I could be wrong. If you get a fan perhaps just keep the receipt in case you get here and realize you won’t be needing it.

they do have ceiling fans but they circulate alot of dust around, imo window fans are crap, go for a stand fan.

Thanks again. One other question about the room, does the closet have a curtain or a door, or do we need to bring our own rod/curtain?

My sons closet in the quads had both the rod and curtain. They have tiled floors so you might think about bringing a swifter to dust off your floor as well as a small carpet to put next to your bed. In regards to the fan - I thought a floor fan was helpful, but he said he felt like it just circulated the hot air. Alot of his floormates slept downstairs in the study area - as heat rises and they were on the top floor, others slept outside. The good thing is the worst of the hot weather usually only lasts the first two weeks of school and after that it is more managable.

Thanks Cali19!
Any other tips for what to bring or not to bring?
