Any input as to why LMU's Business School isn't even ranked? Son rec'd great scholarship to attend and the Dean is a 3 year transplant from USC but even on the new 2010 rankings it doesn't make the top 100. Any input / insight greatly appreciated.

I don’t know the answer to your question, but I do know that their entrepreneurial program is one of the best in the country.

The PT MBA is ranked 12th and 13th in both USNEWS and Business Week. THe entrepreneurial program is highly regarded. The undergrad? Decent, but I don’t believe there is any top 100 (top 20 perhaps?) ranking for undergrad business program.

Bus Week ranks top 100 undergrad business programs and of course Haas(UCBerk), USC-Marshall and Santa Clara Univ are all ranked highly. But not LMU. :(. Looks like S will attend USC.

My son attends LMU and is in the business school. We went to a presentation given by the dean of business school and he said the business school students have been in business school competitions and have been beating everyone including UCLA and USC students.
I was also impressed with a business program they have that lets the students manage some of the schools investments while being monitored by faculty.

My D and husband were at Admitted Student Day today at LMU and they discussed the business school ranking issue. They were told that in order to be included in the ranking the schools needed to give out student email addresses and previously LMU was not willing to do this. They have recently changed the email addresses from private to school based and are participating in the next round of the ranking. Evidentally the professors were very frustrated that the school was not getting the recognition it deserved given the excellent program they have and they have been pushing to participate. It sounds likely that we will see LMU when the next ranking report comes out! It will be very interesting to see how they fair.
