Thanks for your response! By the way, since you have already successfully transfer to Business Admin, could you give me some advice about what should I do for the transferring? Or anything specific I need to work on? Thank you! :)

The business admin program is new and competitive at UCI.

If you are unable to get in as a freshman, then your best bet is to change to business econ, and try to align your classes so that you are also well-prepared to apply to transfer to business admin.

My advice would be to stay on top of your game, be familiar with class and pre-req requirements, try to avoid the “hard” professors, and boost your GPA where you can.

You will also have to decide between management, marketing, accounting as a specialization when you enter business admin. If you’re interested in either mgmt or accntg, then apply for the minor(s) before you apply for the major. That way, you will have some sort of safety net if you do not get into the major. (The minors are easier to get into than the major, especially mgmt)

Feel free to pm me if you have any more questions or need advice.

Thanks for your advise!
I heard that BA needs 3.8 GPA(really really high), so that means I need to take GE classes as easy as possible, right? Is there any bad effect if I take all “very easy class”?
Also, when and how can I apply for transfer in the first year? When and how can I apply for minor?(actually am a little bit interested in accounting :))

Thank you very much!

What kind of bad effect would there be?

If you can manage to find interesting classes, along with getting A’s in them, then that is great. But otherwise, I see no harm in taking “all easy classes”.

Applications for minor & major transfer will depend on the amount of units you have completed. So, its 90 units (junior level) to apply. Minor apps come out in winter, major apps come out in spring.

Thank you!

So you mean I can apply as soon as I get 90 units and I should apply a minor before I apply major in case I cannot get into business school, right?

By the way, will that be harder if I apply a minor? Or I will more class?

Thanks again!

Correct. As for minor vs major, the accounting minor is all you need if you want to get into accounting. For me, I was getting quite sick of the econ courses, and the business administration courses are much more appealing to me.
