Business School Recommendations

Hello,

I’m currently a junior. I live in Texas, and I attend a competitive public school. I am an Asian female. I would like to major in Business, and I’m wondering what colleges are suited for me. I will apply for McCombs, TAMU, and Bauer, but I’m not sure what else to apply for and if I should apply for their honors program. I’ve posted a thread earlier, but here is some updated information.

GPA: 3.7/4.0 & 5.5/6.0
Class rank: 27/554
ECs:
We Care Club: Freshman Rep (9th)
Key Club: Member (9-10th)
French Honors Society: Officer (10th-present)
Outside Club: Treasurer (11th), most likely VP (12th)
Green Club: Monitor (11th), confirmed VP (12th)
I may join Junior Achievement and DECA, but I’m not sure if I’ll have time and how important of a factor this will play.

APs:
ALREADY took-
AP Chinese (5)
AP World History (3)
AP Physics (3)
AP Chemistry (not sure yet but at least a 4)
AP English Language and Composition (not sure yet)
AP US History (not sure yet)
AP Computer Science (not sure yet)

WILL take (senior year)
AP French (maybe)
AP United States Government and Politics
AP Economics
AP Macroeconomics (maybe)
AP Calculus BC
AP English Literature and Composition

Other:
SAT: 1540 (MATH:800)
I’m going to intern at an accounting firm this summer for a month.
I’m taking the 3rd year of Computer Science next year.

Any suggestions for suitable business colleges? Also, are there any recommendations for clubs I should join senior year?Thanks!

You might also be interested in UTD’s Jindal. Besides that, there are plenty of great OOS and private options that you OBJECTIVELY would fit for, but I assume you’re not really interested judging by your list. In-state wise, there are others, but you’ve got a variety pick of the best AND you’ll be sure to get into a great option.

You can definitely apply for the honors options, as they will generally get you a lot more individual attention (which is great at huge schools like those you will be going to). I cannot make any recommendations for clubs, as a) I never had any and b) I don’t know what your school offers.

Best of luck in your college stuff. You seem to be quite accomplished and should be proud of yourself.

Since he is from Texas, UT’s McCombs and TAMU’s May’s are both better business schools by large. The only reason that OP would choose UTD is for aid.

Don’t join a club senior year.
It’s transparent as a ploy AND you already have enough. Work on continued leadership in what you do have.

Do you want to stay in Texas?
Will you need merit aid? Financial aid?
Can your parents afford their EFC and have you run NPC’s on colleges yet?

@MYOS1634 Both in Texas or OOS is fine :slight_smile: And aid isn’t a must but it’d but better if I could get one. Can you explain what EFC and NPC is please?
@philbegas I don’t have a particular major inside of business that I’m interested in. I don’t know a lot about the different sectors yet.
