business school! where to go..

So here's the list of the colleges (BUSINESS school-major probably in accounting)..
Tell me the order of preference for you guys.

U of M-twin cities (Carlson)

U of Wisconsin

UIUC

OSU.

Without thinking about tuition, what university/undergraduate business school would YOU attend?

I know US News ranking is like Wisconsin>UIUC>OSU>U of M but the business school wise, they are pretty much ranked the same..

It's hard to decide..

UIUC (#1 ranked accounting program)
2a. OSU (Also has a top end accounting program)
2b. Wisconsin (Would give an edge over OSU but I think you have to apply to their b-school after your 1st year)

U-M

I know US News ranking is like Wisconsin>UIUC>OSU>U of M but the business school wise, they are pretty much ranked the same…

Indeed. However, factor in the environment (Columbus rocks w/ milder weather) and scholarships offer (National Buckeye Scholarship for OOS students), coupled with the diversity and fundraising effort(s), Ohio State would be the obvious choice imho.

UIUC is the best accounting program by far out of those mentioned. Costs aside, best business program you listed.

OSU and Wisconsin are about the same level to me. As Sparkeye said, OSU offers some nice scholarships, and Wisconsin’s bschool is only 3 years. Otherwise Wisconsin>OSU, (not a large gap).

Minnesota is also quite solid but I would say it’s a bit lower than the others. I do think it’s a fair amount cheaper, though (Especially comparison to Wisconsin or UIUC).

Why would someone who wants to go into business/accounting not consider costs?

^^^ Perhaps they perceive that they have a “client” with unlimited resources. ;)
