Business Transfer Chances

I am a freshman at Washington and Lee University.
I am looking to transfer to do business.
My main interest in finance.
I am looking at U Mich, U Penn, Emory, MIT, and UVA

Stats:

Fall Term Grades:
MATH 221 (Multivariable Calculus) A+
ECON 101 (Principles of Microeconomics) A
PHIL 101 (Principles of Philosophy) A
SPAN 161 (Intermediate Spanish 1) A
Weight Training A

Should have all As and A+s this (winter) term in
MATH 222 (Linear Algebra)
MUSC 221 (History of Jazz)
SPAN 162 (Intermediate Spanish II)
ECON 102 (Principles of Macroeconomics)

Fall Term GPA 4.08 (A+ is 4.33)

Currently I am planning to be a math and business double major.

Member of the wrestling team and rugby club. I also go to investment society meetings but they rarely ever let freshman be members. I write for the school newspaper and am starting some community service.

SAT 2200/1480

High School GPA 4.1 Weighted (Came out to a 92 numerical average)

What are my chances?

your a good applicant , its going to come down to your essays and your reasons for wanting to transfer.

Also, your ECs in high school willprobably matter since your a soph transfer and for soph high school record counts more than college record.

are you a rising sophomore or a rising junior?

I am a freshman at the moment. My ECs weren't outstanding in highschool, but they weren't terrible. Wrestling team captain, math team, senior senate, some other stuff I can't remember

U Mich - low match
U Penn - high match
Emory - match
MIT - reach
UVA - match

What is a "good" reason to transfer?

Is not liking the Greek scene and not being intellectually challenged a good reason or no?

those are good reasons. they need to be expanded though - as in, go into how big of an influence the greek scene has on your campus and how you want a different environment, which is offered at your prospective school.

in addition to brand's advice, delve into each of your target schools deeply enough to be able to be specific about what they offer that you are seeking.

^^^^ definitely. I did that, but way too late in the game, and realized that of the 8 that I initially was applying to, only 4 or 5 really offer enough for me to want to foot the big bill and go there for two years.

I might be mistaken but...

1) MIT doesn't accept transfers into its business program
2) UVA only accepts rising juniors for transfer consideration (that's why I asked)

so 0% chance at those two.

if you're applying to upenn, you seem like you have an okay chance, although you never know because people that get accepted have the same or better stats as you and are from TOP schools.

if you're applying to wharton.. all i can say is good luck -_-

since i'm assuming you're from PA, you should check out villanova.
their business program is awesome and they have great finance placement.

I'm from SC. I am just taking a shot at Wharton, I doubt I'll get in though
