I just changed my major during the end of Spring semester from Computer Science to Business (Finance). Right now, I'm taking Financial Accounting and will most likely get an A in that class. My high school gpa was not that great (3.1). My college gpa was worse (2.1). I'm retaking Programming Concepts and Methodology I Spring 2012 so my gpa will not suffer as much. My SAT scores were 1460. What gpa would be ideal for CPP, SDSU, and CSULB? Also, I've done about 40 hours of volunteer work at a local library as a technical assistant (teaching computer classes and all that). There are some more places that I've volunteered at.

So the main question I'm asking is basically... Even though my non-major GPA is trash, will a 3.8 - 4.0 major GPA be more appealing? Also, would my major GPA win over the schools?
