Business

how easy is it to switch to haas business as my major from architecture in the college of environmental design for a freshman?

getting into haas is reallyyy hard. thats all i know.

as a freshman you cannot switch directly into business, as it requires an application and completion of prereqs before applying. you can still apply to haas even while you remain in the CED, provided that you take the necessary classes to apply and are eligible. if you get into haas come sophomore or junior year, you would then have to change colleges to the haas school of business. it's important to keep in mind that at the same time while taking haas prereq classes, you would still have to keep up with the architecture requirements because you would still be in the CED.

the difficultly of getting into haas is overblown. it's really not THAT bad.

Its not that bad if you are somewhat intelligent and somewhat disciplined.

Since a lot of people don't end up applying because GPA not good enough and about half that do apply get rejected, you can't say the difficulty of getting in is overblown for everyone.

^ Isn't everybody at Cal "somewhat intelligent and somewhat disciplined"?

In the context of high school, yes.
In the context of college, not so much.
