*Busts door open. "WHY AREN'T YOU STUDYING?"

This hasn’t happened since early middle school days. My parents are lax now.

that never happens to me

and my moms asian

hahah

“and my moms asian”

is she first generation? usually the American-born-asian parents are more laid back than the fobby ones

The door doesn’t bust open because I’m expected to keep it wide open at all times (unless I’m changing or whatever). And my desk is arranged so that they can see my computer screen from my door. It’s ridiculous - the other day I was analyzing the PhET neon light / discharge lamp simulation for chemistry and my dad’s suddenly yelling “Stop playing that game! You’re supposed to be studying!” To be fair, it does sort of look like a game, but his outburst was totally uncalled for. And since I’m the only person with a Mac, they always think I’m on iTunes whenever I’m just in Finder. That results in “Stop playing your stupid music and bring your low As up!” Darn Asian 'rents.

Just be happy you have a mother that cares:)

my mother is a first generation american

but she’s still like this. ■■■.

I’m getting this all the time these days. I even get woken up at odd hours to study. I just prop open a book and snooze on it. >_>

I don’t study unless I need to. My parents don’t talk to me about schoolwork.

Me: sitting in room, headphones plugged into laptop, TV on
Dad: What are doing?
Me: Not much!
Dad: Oh, okay. Just saying hi.

^ Haha your dad sounds really chill. My folks usually aren’t on my case for studying; they know I always get my work done.

Usually for me it’s the opposite - they don’t want me studying so much…
