Today I talked to my parents about my Spring Break plans...here's how the conversation went

Me: I want to go on some college tours this Spring Break

Dad: College tours? Why can't you wait until after you get accepted?

Me: Well, I want to actually visit the schools before I waste application fees on a school I DON'T like and really don't want to go to...

Mom: You should like any school that's giving you an education.

Me: But y'all keep bringing up applying to UGA (and I already dont't want to go there!) and I haven't even toured the campus!

Mom: You don't need to tour the campus

Me: Alright, that's why I'm not applying to UGA anyway...I don't even want to talk about this anymore...I'm going to Howard and that's it...

THE END

Not to mention that I've already missed the deadline for the spring break bus trip to my number one choice (Howard) because they don't trust me to do anything by myself! I swear I hate this house...I told them SO MANY times that I don't want to go to UGA but they keep pushing it on me but won't even let me tour the damn school...and UGA is only an HOUR away!! I'm definitely not even considering that school anymore...

well, i applied to 6 schools and only visited one, but i def encourage you to visit.

as far as uga goes, do not not apply there just to spite your parents. hrmmm, i met someone that went to pharmacy school at uga today (totally irrelevant, but oh well). an hour away? why wont the let you visit?

I can identify with you...I live in CA, and there are four or so East Coast colleges I plan to apply to, and I tried to talk my parents into taking a trip back there to visit. "But the application fees are less expensive than plane tickets," they say. And I guess they're right. :(

yeah, my parents are like that too. they think that all the colleges are the same, so why bother? just like visit the websites and ask other people about them...

My parents are completely opposite. They keep urging me to visit colleges and whatnot, but I think tickets are a waste of money. Plus, I don't know which colleges I'm even interested in. For someone ranking 1 in the class, I sure am a slacker.
