but I really do give up sleep for ECs...

in the summer my day starts at 9am and ends at 11pm...

babysitting in the morning
college class in the afternoon
volunteering until very late into the night

therefore, should i like purposely write less involvement so that it doesn't seem like i don't have a 'life'

p.s. all of these activities are incorporated into my college essay because they are all very meaningful...but the hours themselves look 1) faked or 2) "this kid eat, sleep, does ECs. that's it"

:D

you can write this in your essay.I’m sure you can make it sound very meaningful if it was actually meaningful…it just depends on whether you can convey the idea without making it sound too ‘‘fake’’.

my essays definitely integrated all my activities under a common theme.

its just that for my volunteer work, the hours are extremely flexible…sometimes i do 45 hr/wk of volunteering (i kid you not…early morning to almost midnight at times), other times (school year) ~8 hr/wk.

but the common app asks me to average out my hours…ugh…now they think i actually volunteer ~20hr/wk year-round
