Butler

Does Butler allow dogs for undergraduates as well as graduates? I was at the Princeton website and typed in "dogs" and it came up with the butler link saying that they allow dogs. Is that only for the apartents? If they DO allow dogs... then Princeton truly is the PEERRRRFFFEECCTT school! :)

A more important question is whether anywhere will allow turtles, because otherwise I am just going to have to smuggle mine in and keep her nice and hidden.

Perhaps an iguana? Actually, I think I'll just get twin goldfish named Rupert and Bobo and be done with it...

http://www.princeton.edu/~butlerap/_bugles/1995_12_bugle.html

"The preceding paragraph has been a dramatization. Pets have not been banned... yet. But there HAVE been numerous complaints. No resident should have to put up with dog poop outside their door, or in the picnic areas. And while it is easy to tell oneself that the above scenario would never happen, the fact is that the University, while under no obligation to provide housing for pets, is obliged to maintain sanitary conditions on its grounds. How many more babies crawling through piles of dung will it take before the pet policy is changed? Let's not find out."

Another link that you need word for:

"Pets:
Butler is one of the few housing complexes available in which pets are allowed; yet there is a lack of support for dog walking/playing. Dog owners were disappointed with the lack of space for unleashed exercise for dogs. Non-dog owners complained that dogs are let loose in the street. Having a dog run would probably make both groups happy."

oh, and I was mitaken...go to the princeton website ane type in "pets allowed"

So are dogs only allowed on the Butler Appartment housing complex?

that is what I am trying to ask! lol

"one of the few" im assuming there are some others that allow it?

Butler Apts. are grad housing...not the same as Butler College.

So there is no way possible that an undergraduate could ever bring their dog even if it is well-behaved, cute, and around 30 pounds?

it could be a health hazard....many people are allergic to dogs/cats

Butler College is for Undergrad students
Butler Apartments are for Grad students. They are located way apart.

Turtles are possible to keep... just hide them whenever you catch wind that there might be a housing inspection. Dogs are impossible to hide, and the only undergrad I know with a dog is a wheelchair bound girl.

um...he has hair not fur, because my mom is allergic to dogs. Go to Labradoodle.com for more info:)

Sigh...oh well...they really should have a special dog-dorm! There are plent of people out there who love dogs.

I would think that it would be hard to give a dog the attention it needs when you have the courseload and ECs that Princeton entails. My dog, at least, is very needy and needs walks and stuff like that. Also he has a barking problem. He sure isn't coming with me.

my dog does not bark that much and he stays home alone alot as it is. Also...maybe I could get him a little dog friend...but it is out of the question lol. I know that you are right prettyfish, I just feel bad leaving my dog at home.
