Curse you Princeton

Why is it that Princeton doesn't allow transfer students???? It's probably the ONLY college in the US that doesn't even consider transfer students...that's so crappy. I know it's too late for us (applying for the upcoming year) but does anyone know if they're ever going to change it? It says on the website "at this time," so I wonder if they're considering being normal.

Ok a little more to gripe about...

Princeton is undergrad only, so if you don't get in as a freshman and you can't transfer in, you can basically NEVER go to Princeton. I don't even like the school that much, but it just gets on my nerves that it's untouchable. I don't like for schools to be impossible, and ultimately basically any school is possible if you do well in undegrad (and go onto grad school) or if you transfer into an LAC....but Princeton is just a big jerk.

Yea I Kno Wth Is Wrong With Them

this is way off topic but princeton has a badass name.

I had no idea Princton was undergrad only.

yeah I figured it out after that first post...and then I got really ****ed.

We should all email them and complain.

or we can make a school thats transfers only

Before you go off on Princeton, let me make one correction. There is no professional graduate school. There is however a graduate school. The reason there is no professional graduate school is because the Trustee's at Princeton are trying to create an environment completely dedicated to undergraduate learning. All of their billions of dollars in endowment goes directly to the under 22 crowd. If you look at Harvard, they have become a school so focussed with Graduate studies and research, that they've become one of the unhappiest undergrad bodies in the country. That is exactly what Princeton doesn't want to do. So if you're looking for a Ph.D. or a masters, you can get your Princeton on, if you want a JD or MBA or MD, go cry somewhere else. Just a note, I don't attend Princeton, nor do I intend to apply, so I feel as though I don't have bias.

i second hobo's idea

get over it (directed at original poster and anyone who agrees and whines like him lol)

Princeton is freggin tight yo...

I prefer Harvard over Princeton any day, anytime.
And I prefer Stanford over Harvard, anyday, anytime.
And lastly, I prefer UPenn over Stanford, anyday, anytime.

I prefer Penn over harvard too

Princeton>Stanford>Harvard>UPenn

What do you mean you prefer. It's funny, because no one here says they would prefer a small LAC or a big state school. Do you just go by US News or your own assesments.

Halopeno - thanks for that info...I didn't know that a/b Princeton and the grad schools.

ilovecalifornia - shut up...I'm entitled to my opinion

If i were to go by US NEWS, I would've chosen:

Stanford > Harvard > UPenn.

My point is, you shouldn't go by US news. Its too late for any of us because we've been unfairly conditioned to think if it isn't HYMPS... it isn't a worthwhile school. Stop forming your rankings based on someone elses rankings.

ok halopeno, if you can list me some schools that's known to have better business programs than any of Harvard, Stanford, or UPenn, feel free to.

Michigan for one has an excellent business school. I wouldn't know, because I'm not interested in business, but you are welcome to research potential schools beyond what magazines and newspapers say are the top schools.
