Buying a Laptop

I'm going to attend Tech this fall semester and I need to buy a laptop to use throughout my 4 years there. Does anyone know about how much I need to spend on a laptop to last me the whole time? I think I remember hearing at the tour that there was an equal amount of mac and windows users, but was the tour guide just trying to not be bias?
If it helps, I am planning on majoring in BME.

A lot of people use Apple laptops at this school. Another favorite are Lenovo’s Thinkpads. Both are good choices, they last a long time and have good warranty’s. As long as it has an Intel i5 processor and 4GB of RAM then I’m sure you’ll be fine.

Get a MacBook Pro. You can chose between silver, white, and black. Best laptop hands down. It will have everything you need while at Tech plus entertaining features. Most colleges have packaged deals, so when you buy a MacBooK Pro you get a free iPod and printer for about $1300 give or take a $100.

Dell’s are really great and reasonable prices. Check those out. Apples are good, but expensive
