Buying a Sweater from the NYU Online Store

I was planning to purchase a NYU sweater and I noticed that the women's category of the clothing store has a lot more kinds of designs to choose from than the unisex category.

Unisex - New York University Bookstores - Sweatshirts

Women - New York University Bookstores - Womens

I called the bookstore and asked if they could find me a men's size of the women's type and they told me nope :[

So I think I'm going to buy a women's sweater? X or XL?
The sizing chart doesn't show any significant size differences between the unisex S and women's junior X/XL.

Has anyone tried this? comment below?
if I'm going to buy a sweater for $50+ i want it to be comfortable and look nice? hahaha, i'm kind of picky :P

If no one here can answer (you have not stated which style you are looking at), just call back the NYU Bookstore, give them the style of what you want in the women’s L?/ XL and ask them to compare the size with a comparable style men’s sweater in the size you normally wear (put them shoulder to shoulder to compare). Also, make sure the sizing for the NYU sweaters are true to size. Ask them if the NYU sweaters tend to run true to size or smaller/ larger than usual.

May be a student here can address the latter question.

If you’re going to be on-campus with the class of 2015, just wait until Welcome Week to get one. There will be massive sales because everyone and their parents and long-lost relatives will be in the city for move-in and that = $$$$ to the bookstore (and everyone else in the city). Better (in my book) to physically try something on than chance it without knowing for sure.

If you do end up ordering online for whatever reason, err on the small side. It’s not super fashionable to run around in baggy oversized university gear in the city.
