I decided to probably buy my books early during orientation.. how exactly do I go about that? Is there any chance I can buy a book from another student so that it's most likely cheaper and I might get their old text materials as well? If anyone wants to sell me their books I'm fine with that too, I'm a EE major.

Well if you need ahhh damn maybe. Which books do you need? I still need my calc but I'll see who is up for selling theirs.

Try: http://www.illinibookexchange.com/

Some club at U of I provides it free of charge! students post their old books for cheaper prices, and when you "buy" a book the program exchanges info then you guys meet for the deal.

Try this too: http://www.bigtenbooks.com/
Ebay or if you just want to get the books at a bookstore on campus there are three to choose from: Illini Union Bookstore, efollets, TIS. I recommend the Illini Union (turns out to be cheaper)

Oh yeah as for the bookstores you can order the books, and pick them up or have them delivered.

Here is the website: http://www.uofibookstore.uiuc.edu/
http://www.efollett.com/

That's incredibly helpful :) Thanks! I don't want to wait TOO long but I think I'll have to wait for at least some of the science courses.
