^It’s people like that that are the reason why the acceptance rate at Maryland is dropping like a rock.
I do own an ancient Terps T-shirt, but that’s mostly because it’s my flagship and I would have no problem attending the school if I couldn’t get anything better. It would be comical to see someone with a 2.0 wearing a Harvard polo thinking he won’t be rejected.

^ This guy I knew wore Harvard shirts almost every day. He was a double legacy and was sure he would get in. He was a smart kid, so I wouldn’t have minded if he weren’t a complete elitist prick. (Like his brother, who is nice, sometimes wears Harvard shirts, no one cares.) He got rejected. Lulz.

I bought a hoodie from one of the colleges I stayed overnight, but that’s because it was on sale and I had a really good memories there.

i bought my stanford hoodie a year and a half before i have to apply. i like to wear it to SAT tests, ACT tests, school tests, and when im studying at home, because it gives me motivation.

I have a Hahvahd shirt (not Harvard, Hahvahd!), because I found it rather hilarious. I don’t have any other apparel, and a couple of sweaters, but I mainly wear those indoors (really warm). I don’t live in the USA, so it’s less weird to wear them here though, you just look touristy.

haha I think Im the opposite (going by the original thread). I know a lot of people who wear harvard, yale, duke sweatshirts as applicants or younger high school students. But Im afraid to wear my Stanford shirt at school because I dont want people to think Im rubbing it in their faces, especially when some friends of mine were rejected. So it seems easier to wear college apparel before you get your decision.

One of my friends went to visit UGA on a college trip and while walking around on a tour, spotted a student walking around in an Alabama sweat shirt!

We had a good laugh about that one!

In my school there is a tradition which says you can only buy college apparel of colleges you are certain you can get it in. Most kids therefore have state school sweaters or not-that-selective-but-still-good-college sweaters. This girl, however, has sweaters from Stanford and Harvard. I wonder if she knows about the tradition.

I wear my Harvard shirts because I attended Harvard Summer School. I don’t think I would wear a shirt to a school I haven’t attended (albeit only 7 weeks) or one I didn’t get accepted to, for multiple occasions. I would wear their logo if I went to a sports game or to a conference they were holding though.

Oh god no, don’t you know that it’ll jinx your chances of getting in?..

Come on, who’s going to care, all that you’ll possibly do is to **** off the stuck-up kids who did get in Early into those schools, in which case it’s totally justifiable to start ****ing them off xP

^ Unnecessary Censorship

I loved that episode of Malcolm in the Middle where he becomes friends with his girlfriend’s family and completely stops paying attention to her.

I only visited a couple places, and in neither case did I want to buy a t-shirt. Of course, one of those I mainly visited to get out of school for a day . I do have several shirts from the University of Utah, where my mom ('s entire family) went, though. Also, my reply wasn’t specifically to you as you posted between when I opened the page and wrote my own post.

I’ve heard some amusing things about Harvard Summer School and the people that attend.

Kids at my school love wearing college sweatshirts, its basically a fashion trend. But my area is pretty wealthy and the school is pretty good so the majority of Ivy League/similar caliber school shirts are worn by students who are children of alumni.

Once I get college decisions in April, I am going to go on an shopping spree! As of now I don’t own any college apparel :(

Haha, no college stuff here. I’ll buy when I enroll, and hopefully wear with pride…I wouldn’t wear my hs stuff to my own hs.

Usually, if I like a school, I buy a shirt after the tour.

…It’s basically how my parents tell whether I’m applying there or not.

My high school requires a letter of admittance if we want to wear a college’s sweatshirt to school (private school = dress code). So I never bought anything when I went to visit. Probably still won’t, since I’m not really into that kind of apparel.

^haha really? that’s intense. and a great way to brag/difficult way to bluff. must create tension, eh?

Some of you guys have the funniest reaction to kids wearing college apparel. My friend has a Stanford tie. He knows he won’t get in, but a relative of his bought it for him and he likes their basketball team. You don’t need to buy college apparel just because you are going to a certain college.

“There was this one junior in Algebra 1 wearing a USC shirt. I was all like: “You know you’re probably going to get rejected, right?..””

You come off as a pretty arrogant SOB to me. If I were that kid, I’d probably punch you.

I wear college stuff. My dad went to Purdue, so I’ve been raised on Purdue, so I have a buttload of stuff from there. Then, I saw this cute Iowa State shirt when I toured there and bought it. I also really liked Central Michigan and bought a shirt from there too. I didn’t really like Butler, so I didn’t buy anything. Ergo, I only buy when I like a school.

I have a ton of USC gear (Although my dad went there, and i watch football so I have an excuse if i’m rejected…). Also have Cal Poly and Chapman gear…not sure what will happen if i’m rejected there…
