Buying used bikes from former students

Does anyone know if there is somewhere on the A&M website (or any location) where former A&M students put their bikes up for sale once they graduate (or earlier)? I imagine there would be quite a few students who would be looking to do so, so I'm hoping to find a used bike for my son that way (we weren't planning on getting him a bike, until we discovered that the walk from the Chemistry building to the Biochemistry building takes too long to get to class on time). Any suggestions?

Thanks!

I would suggest Craigslist and the marketplace on facebook (you can specify a city in both cases).

We got a brand new one at Academy for around $60. We’ve had a few of their Ozone brand bikes - cheap and reliable. Bike theft is a problem, so make sure you get a good lock and possibly engrave it with his name.

Good luck!

FYI only. No experience of the bike sale at auction.

I agree. Cheaper the better. Walmart/Target. Crooks will pass on these to get the nice, expensive bikes. But that is not to say that even a cheap bike will need a lock. Plus, if your son is going to be out at night and you get him a head and tail light, make sure it is a model that he can easily remove and put in his bag. I would imagine thise are popular theft items.
