***Looking for a productive(but cheap!) summer activity that would look good for college apps, so once again any suggestions are welcome!

also:
SAT I-1720 (im retaking it though!)
SATII-taking in the fall

as for your last class, take the one that’s going to interest you the most as opposed to what looks good.
haha, but if you care what looks good…
-the ap’s will look good academically (shows you took advantage of all difficult classes offered to you)
-newspaper and yearbook will be good leadership demonstrations (especially if you become editor or have another position with some sort of responsibility.pretty self-explanatory)
-creative writing would be a good demonstration of your special interests (if you love writing that is)

for your summer activity you should probably get a job or volunteer, or BOTH!! lol that’d look pretty good since they’re going to ask you about both

lol i just realized you already have volunteer work up there!! then you should be good on that
i change my recommendation to just getting a summer job :-]]

One more question- from others experience, which SAT IIs would be the best to take? Also, which did you find to be the LEAST and MOST challenging?

To ensure that you get in, get an SAT I of 1950+. The out-of-state UC admissions are very competitive, but you have a good transcript. Also, try taking the ACT. Test scores are important, so make sure that you are well prepared in that sense.

Do more volunteer work over the summer. It looks like you have a pretty solid base in that sort of thing, but the admissions officers seem to love volunteer stuff.

there are a few steps to calculating the UC gpa:

disregard freshman and senior year

take all the a-g courses you have and add them up with 4 being an A, 3 a B, 2 a C, 0 for D and F

add one point for each AP or UC-approved honors course up to 8 points

divide by the total number of classes you used to calculate your total

if you were a california resident, you would be able to see what classes qualified as an a-g course, and whether you receive the 1.0 boost for honors or ap classes. essentially, classes like P.e. and advising are not factored into your uc gpa, and are thus not a-g courses.

a good uc gpa is definitely above a 4. the average admitted student has a gpa 4.01 gpa. of the students who enrolled, the average gpa is around a 3.75. you will probably be higher than this gpa.
