<p>Hey,</p>

<p>I've had a good time posting here over the last year or so. At first I joined CC just to get a sense of the schools I was applying to; then, I made the decision to come to UChicago, and spent my time posting on this forum to rep the school and help people learn more about it. </p>

<p>I have since discovered, however, that UC was not the intellectual paradise I made it out to be. In fact, many of my professors this year have been, well, kind of dumb. I don't know if it was watching "Troy" in place of reading the Iliad for Greek Thought & Lit, or Allen Sanderson drawing nearly every graph backwards in Microeconomics, but Chicago has really failed to live up to its reputation. </p>

<p>The student body, as well, is severely lacking. I am pretty fond of partying, and I thought I had found a good place when I went to my first frat party here. But honestly, Magic: the Gathering duels for tequila shots? And I could have handled that, but the party themes ("Harry & Ron," "Horny HMO Reps & Naughty Mid-Level Secretary Assistants") flat-out suck. </p>

<p>So yeah. Prospective students, don't come here. It's a pool of stagnating pseudo-intellect and mindless drivel. I was waiting until I got the news to announce this, and yesterday I got it. That's right, I'll be transferring to Northwestern, a far better institution. This will be my last post on this board. </p>

<p>Why is Northwestern always mentioned? Pick someone else. NU and Chicago should be partners, not rivals. :)</p>

<p>If you're wondering, I picked Northwestern because I wanted to go to a school where the focus on student athletics isn't nearly as overwhelming as it is at UChicago.</p>

actually I have a friend who used to go to school in Virginia, and one of her teachers thought watching West Side Story was a proper substitute for reading Romeo and Juliet. Just goes to show that this stuff really does happen >.></p>
